Default Vote for the next Ray Harryhausen Blu-ray release!

Sony Pictures is giving Ray Harryhausen fans a chance to vote for the next release from the acclaimed director. The choices are: Golden Voyage of Sinbad, Mysterious Island, Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger.

The real answer is "all of the above - and quickly please".

But, since that wasn't an option, I selected "Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger". LOL... looks like I'm in the minority on that one.

Yeah, sad there was no boxset option.

I want a box set as well, but since I have to vote I went with Mysterious Island, which I sort of look at as a sequel to 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

Think you were--
Last time I checked, results were 49/49/1% against SatEotT.
(One of the only times I've ever been embarrassed by a Schneer/Harryhausen, and at least the failure of the movie drove them out of Sinbads for a while and back into Greek mythology.)

And it was a tough Solomon choice between Golden and Mysterious, since Mysterious keeps getting a lot of goofy slacker guff from the same kids who har-har over Clash of the Titans...It's generic Schneer/Harryhausen, if there's such a thing (ie., not bad, but in the same league as "First Men in the Moon"), and it's only movie spoilers that keep them from selling that
[Show spoiler]Herbert Lom makes a darn good followup Captain Nemo to Disney's
.
So, I went with hopes for the Sinbad boxset, and got behind Golden. Figured that would be the only way Tiger would get a decent break.

Doesn't anyone see this is a simple marketing ploy? Sony will release them eventually (Harryhausen tends to sell well on Blu, apparently). This is just something to make us feel like we're in control;.

At this point, with every studio following Warner's paranoid example and blaming catalog releases as a scapegoat for everything, consider some fans as TAKING NO CHANCES.
If they want artificial displays of commitment for vintage-catalog sales, by Harriet, they're going to get them!
