I recently bought a samsung un55c8000 but did not go with the starter kit or c6900 blu-ray 3D player (i got a great deal passing on these two things)
I thought I'd be better off buying the glasses seperately since the ones in the kit seemed kind of cheap, I also have a PS3 so I'll hopefully be using it as my 3d player in a few weeks ![]() Pretty much the only ones watching 3D material are my 8 year old daughter and myself, I was looking at the Samsung rechargeable glasses both for her and myself, i like the fact that the childs size will fit her. Besides the samsung, are there any better options out there? I assume the Sony, LG, Panasonic all would work with my set too? Thanks for any suggestions! |

Id personally recommend waiting till October 15th andn buying the How to Train Your Dragon starter kit with two pairs of Samsung glasses. How to Train Your Dragon is a great movie (much better then Monsters vs Aliens) and if you have a Samsung and need the glasses anyway it seems like the way to go.

Samsung has two different types of glasses that I'm aware of. The ones that come with the kit, Which are actually really good in my opinion. They may seem a little cheap because of the light weight plastic. But that is a good thing since that makes them comfortable to wear. Just be careful not to step or sit on them. Don't leave them laying out when not in use.
They make another pair that are probably slightly better. They are the ones they use with the demos at the store. The lenses seem a little bigger, and they are rechargeable. They cost like 50$ more and you can order them off the Samsung website. I think it's probably better just to have a replaceable battery. The battery lasts a long time, and if it goes dead in the middle of a movie you can quickly change it out and you're back in business. But I've not tried the rechargeables at home, so I can't say for sure that one way is better than the other. If I were you I would do like Jimmy Smith advises. Go with the starter kit and get the How To Train Your Dragon movie. I'm planning to do just that myself, actually. I got the first kit for free with Monster vs Aliens, and I'll be buying this new one in October. Last edited by Lovemy3D; 08-27-2010 at 07:10 AM. |
