Do they offer new releases or just titles that have been out for a while? Their selection is minimal, but if they had enough titles to interest me, the average price I would pay per blu-ray would be a good deal.

I wouldn't do it since as far as I know, it marries you to buying a certain number of Disney blus a year and you probably will run out quickly if you are forced to buy.

Well the current deal is that you get 3 titles for $1.99 each for signing up, and then within the next 24 months you have to buy 5 at full retail price to get another 3 for $1.99 each. You can cancel as soon as you buy the 5 at full price. The first 8 would average out to about $19 each. I'm figuring on buying every Diamond Edition release, which is 4, and that only leaves 1 more I would be obligated to buy, which could be Toy Story 3. The thing is I don't see a lot of options for my first 3 except the first two Toy Stories. Are more titles available after you join or something?

Also: do they accept those coupons DMC offers?

So 3 at 1.99 each, buy 5 and get 3 more at 1.99 each?

That sounds like a good deal to me. Didn't know you got 3 more at 1.99 each.

IF you need/want a lot of Disney movies, then I think it works out to be a good deal once you average everything out.

IF you're like me, however, and already have a bunch and pretty much only want newer releases as they come out... it isn't as tempting because I already have most of the titles that I could get at the cheaper price.

Yup other than a couple steelbooks I have every single Disney movie I want right now so this deal doesn't work for me, kudos to those it does though.

about $120 for 9 Movies? (about $13.33 each)
about $130 for 10 Movies? (about $13.00 each)

Wait, are we talking about the Blu-Ray Club, or the regular Disney Movie Club, which at least offers obscure "exclusive" titles, a la the Warner Archive?

(And which would normally be available "only" through the Club, except that they keep turning up as Disney Movie Rewards point prizes.)

Yeah, I got a mailing yesterday too... after I had posted in this thread.

I looked it over, and basically I have all the movies that I would want to have from their selection currently available.

I usually recommend clubs like this for first-time buyers who just bought their player and are starting to buy movies for the first time. It's a great way to get a bunch of movies really quickly for a good average price.

It's just not usually worth joining a 2nd time, except in rare circumstances... and as noted not worth it if you already have a bunch of movies.

If I get the 6th BR @ $11.95, I will ONLY have to get 3 more BRs within 24 months (my bad on the typo above).

So it is 3 BRs to fullfill the contract / membership agreement if I do buy the 6th BR movie @ 11.95.

Here directly from the website @ Disney

YOU MAY ALSO TAKE A 6TH BLU-RAY MOVIE NOW AT THE SPECIAL PRICE OF JUST $11.95. PLUS YOU PAY NO ADDITIONAL SHIPPING AND PROCESSING CHARGE. This Bonus Movie will even count towards your purchase commitment, so you'll only need to purchase 3 more Blu-ray movies in the next 24 months instead of 4.

complete contract as stated:

As a Disney Blu-ray Movie Club member, all you need to do is buy 4 movies at regular Club prices in the next 24 months (starting at $29.95 per Blu-ray title), plus shipping and processing of $3.95 for the first title in each order, and $1.49 for each additional title in that same order. You may cancel your membership at any time after purchasing the 4 movies.

By agreeing to purchase at least 4 regular-priced Blu-ray movies in the next 24 months, you qualify to receive 5 Disney Blu-ray movies of your choice from the list of titles currently available from the Disney Movie Club for $1.99 each. Shipping and processing is free. Save even more when you sign up with a credit card, and pay just $1.00 total. Please allow 2-4 weeks to receive your first shipment.

PLUS YOU CAN SAVE EVEN MORE by selecting a 7TH BLU-RAY MOVIE NOW FOR the special price of JUST $8.95 AND STILL PAY NO ADDITIONAL SHIPPING AND PROCESSING CHARGE.

About every 4 weeks (up to 13 times a year) you will receive a mailing indicating the "Featured Title." Plus you may also receive up to 2 more seasonal Featured Title mailings a year. That's up to 15 buying opportunities a year! You can choose to receive the Featured Title, an alternate, or no movie at all. If you do not inform us of your choice within 10 days or by the date specified on the card (either by returning the card, visiting the website, or by calling the 800 number on the card), the Featured Title will be automatically shipped to you.

When you join the Disney Blu-ray Movie Club, you may provide us with your credit card information (website accepts credit card orders only). You will be charged only for the movies that you order (including Featured Title shipments) plus shipping and processing. We will not charge your credit card until the date of shipment. Sorry, we do not accept debit cards or check cards at this time.

You agree to fulfill your purchase commitment within 24 months of sign-up. If you are unable to meet your commitment within your commitment period, your credit card may be charged for the value of the 4 reduced-priced titles you have received. This amount is dependent upon your initial sign up offer and the format of your introductory movies.

Your satisfaction is 100% guaranteed! If you are not completely satisfied with your introductory titles, simply return them within 10 days of receipt along with written notice informing us that you want to cancel your membership. We will refund any money you might have sent, including shipping and processing costs, as part of our no-risk guarantee.

Must be 18 years of age or older to join. Applicable sales tax will be added to orders shipped to California and Wisconsin.

Come on, it could be a universal code like WBshop uses.
