Default Feedback on the Sharp 40-inch Quattron

I bought the following, but now that I watch it in my house I don't like what I see:

Sharp - Quattron / 40" Class / 1080p / 120Hz / LED-LCD HDTV
Model: LC-40LE810UN

I buy with my eyes, so I spend a lot of time looking at TV under different conditions and with different inputs, etc. The aforementioned looked great so I bought it.

At home, the motion seems blurry. I've tried all 3 motion settings (high, low and off) and although there are differences, I still don't like what I see.

Also, and I don't know how to describe this, the background in the picture looks pixelated, while images in the foreground look good.

What are others' experience with this TV? I'm trying to decide if if I need to return the TV or if I need to look at my input set up. It currently runs on a HD DVR (Directv) through a 720p modulator. I've got another lower end 32 inch LCD on the same receiver through the same modulator and it actually looks better.

Thanks in advance.

I'd consider this to be evidence that the quattron is probably not set up properly.

I'd suggest searching online for other user settings and using a calibration disc like the DVE HD Basics or Spears & Munsil Blu-ray's.

Best of luck.

Hi I am just responding because I had one of these sets and returned it and got a Samsung 40 LED and I'm much happier. The color is aweful on the Quattron. The added yellow overpowers everything on top of the fact that the HD quality (even calibrated) is quite soft and has bad definition. I just couldn't deal with it so I went with something else instead. Of course my Samsung has some clouding but it isn't that much and it seems to be getting less and less noticable. Not a fan of the Quattron and I think it's a passing fad (rgby). I can't see anyone else using this color. Everyone had slightly green faces even when I calibrated the color, which was next to impossible. Sorry for the rant but if you are unhappy with it now get another brand and you'll be happier. Hope this helps.
