Interesting. I'll consider it if it's in strong 3D as Dreamworks has done with Madagascar 3 3D.

Though I've never owned a Troll figure, I prefer the toy design of the original Trolls figures (pictured above),
compared to this new design. No big deal.

Well, one is from The Big Bang Theory (Kunal Nayyar), Justin Timberlake is a pop singer and actor (In Time), Anna Kendrick was in Pitch Perfect and Pitch Perfect 2, Gwen Stefani (The Voice), James Corden has his late show and was recently in Into The Woods, Russel Brand is a comedian and used to be Katy Perry's husband, Icona Pop (I Love It). Interesting cast, glad to see a YouTuber is a voice actor but I have no clue what this is about and I don't like the design of the trolls unless they were purposely made to look like the toys.

Well ... This in unexpected ...

At CANNES, limited press got to see about 20 minutes of TROLLS. And the comments were surprisingly positive. Some even comparing this with the best of Pixar. "This could be Dreamworks' Inside Out!" and "A creative world that's great to discover and funny in a smart way."

Could it be?

Can I just say, this looks surprisingly dark based on the first teaser.

How many kids movies trailers end with one of the characters being eaten?

Is this going to be a musical or something? (The voice cast has got me wondering.)

Anyway, after seeing that first clip, it actually doesn't look nearly as bad as I expected after that first teaser of all the trolls dancing. (Not that one out-of-context clip can tell us much).

Does anybody get a Cartoon Network (like Adventure Time or something) vibe from it?

Anyway, if the reaction so far is that positive, I'll be cautiously optimistic.

Funny story. I know some independent filmmakers in Austin that had to change the name of their film because of this. They've been working on it for years and it too was called "Trolls," but their movie is about patent trolls.
