Default Fox and Microsoft?

Because of the recent acquisition of the Halo movie by Fox, is it possible that Fox would go neutral on HD-DVD and Blu-ray?

They just announced releasing Family Guy on Xbox Live.

Not bloody likely.

Fox are just about the most paranoid studio around and they know that the AACS hack is pretty permanent so BD+ is going to be required to stop piracy.

Also they are huge fans of region coding, HD DVD doesn't offer it.

It's kind of Odd that Halo is Microsoft exclusive, which is dud exclusive. Yet the movie rights are fox exclusive, which is Blu exclusive.

Well, that would force X-Box fanboys to buy Blu-Ray players if they want to watch the Halo movie.

All it means is that video sales over live are doing really well, and Fox wants in on the action. Disney's over there too.

That's perfect for me since I'm huge Halo fan (I wear Master Chief Underoos) and an ardent blu-ray supporter.

Most games to movies stink to the high heavens so I don't see that happening.

^^Good points! But, since when did any business collaboration and licensing arrangements ever make sense?

Case in point: Isn't Toshiba a co-developer of the Cell Processor? (Rhetorical question).

Rup.

umm...all this sounds really well and hopeful, but you guys do know the Halo movie was cancelled right? It's like in production limbo. I highly doubt fox will be able to hold on to the rights with this one.
