With the limited nature of Scream Factory blu-ray slipcovers, I've found myself buying films before I actually have the time to watch them. In fact, over half of my blus are still sealed.
Where are you guys at? |

zero.
Even though I have a few that I've owned for quite some time and still haven't watched... I always unseal my blu rays-- what if the wrong disc is inside it? or scratched? |

Most of my slipcover collection currently resides in an undisclosed landfill.

Half of those movies could be missing digital codes, or wrong/defective discs. By the time you open them, it could be too late to do a return.

None. I open every disc I get to look at the disc artwork, reversible art and watch the movie. Even if it's one that sits in the watch pile, it get's opened the moment I open my package from the mail or get home from the store. I hate plastic wrap on my stuff.

That plastic wrap rarely stays on long enough to make it home. I usually open them up as soon as I start the car

I probably have about 50 sealed blu-rays in total, maybe even pushing towards 100 because of recent sales. But only one I can think of from Scream Factory, Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Only reason for that is I had watched the MGM disc I had just weeks before I picked up the Scream factory edition, so I didn't feel like watching it again so soon. Come to think of it, that was at least a year ago so it's probably time for me to get on that.
![]() Some of my other "unopened" discs were ones I got over the years on black friday or through sales where I picked up 10 or 20 blu-rays at a time. When you buy in huge lots, a few of them are bound to fall through the cracks, and that happens with me sometimes where movies I buy get lost in the shuffle. Hell about 20-30 of those discs were just in recent weeks from Kino and Twilight Time sales (and I have another batch of Criterions coming). Eventually I get around to them all though, some just take longer than others. Half? That seems a stretch. I've encountered playback issues with blu-rays just a handful of times ever. I only had 1 disc that straight up wouldn't play out of the shrinkwrap, and indeed it was long past the return period so I was screwed on that one. |

I haven't done a count of how many Scream titles I have, but know I have 3 still sealed as they were from sales too good to miss and I just haven't got around to watching them yet. I usually wait til viewing time to open them and don't worry much about them being messed up somehow, since none of my dozens of opened ones ever have been. Even the ones that came with crushed slips thanks to the post office have been fine. I'd guess I have about 70-80 total offering from them, and that's just the collector's editions. Probably another 20 if you count Shout and non-CE discs.

I'm one of those people that used to open a movie as soon as I got back into the car. But as I've been selling off some of my collection I've realized that over half of those movies I never watched, and just like some collectibles, NEVER ROOM FROM BOX, the value on the potential resale dwindles by this action.
I know I have at least a few that are still un-opened... Swamp Thing, Darkman 2 & 3, Bubba Ho-Tep. Generally nowadays I open right away if it's a steel or comes with a digital copy, otherwise I'll leave it sealed until I'm ready to watch it. |
