I have to say,I am glad to see this section of the Forum, come to life.
I plan on getting another Blu-Ray Player in about Two Weeks. And I figure I may as well consider a 3-D compatible Player. But it is strictly for my Movies(So SACD and other formats aren't an issue) I am not too concerned about WiFi capability out of the Box.If it accepts an adapter for WiFi,I can try it later,if I see the need. I had been looking at a couple of Sony Models. But I am hoping to find something around $150.00 that would be a good performer and dependable(with out being obsolete in a year) As I plan on selling my projector and getting a 3-D compatible Projector around the First of the year(2011). So I would Be Very Greatful and Appreciative for any and all replies and input. |

The least expensive 3D player I have seen is the Sony now on sale at Costco for $199.99, I believe it has built in WIFI. I believe this sale goes through the first week in August.
Sony BDP-BX57 * Built-in Wi-Fi & 3D Blu-ray Disc playback capability. * iPhone/iPod touch "BD Remote" app * DLNA wireless streaming of photos, videos and music * Enjoy music, photos and video via front USB slot * 1GB memory built-in to enjoy BD-Live content It is also on sale at Sams's club. If you have the Samsung DLP then no since the DLP uses checkerboard which only the Panasonic 3D Blu-ray player supports.
If you have the Samsung 3D LCD or Plasma then yes, since the Sony follows the new 3D standard which Samsung uses on its new 3D sets. |

The Sony BDP-S470 is their least expensive Blu-ray 3D player and is available for around $170 from a number on on-line dealers (e.g., Amazon). If you are also interested in 3D gaming the PS3 at $299 does that now and with a planned firmware update (coming in September) it will also play Blu-ray 3D movies.

Has anyone tried this unit? Costco has a $40 off coupon starting next week. Not sure what the original price is keyed from. My PS3 just YLOD'ed so I'm thinking of another stand alone blu for the bedroom. I didn't want to buy my 3rd player and not be 3d capable...
