Talking Superbowl Commercials

As much as we love the big game, the Superbowl has also become synonymous with great commercials too. Sometimes the commercials are the most exciting thing about the SB.

I heard this year a 30 second ad will run you $3.5M. That's a lot of macaroni.

Matthew Broderick reprises his Ferris Bueller role for an upcoming Superbowl commercial.
[Show spoiler]Rumor has it it's for Honda.

This is still one of my all time favorite SB commercials.

I've always enjoyed this string of commercials.

I'd forgotten all about these commercials. Terry Tate is classic.

Yes, Terry "Cole Train" Tate is the man. That is, until the Rock kicked his ass in Faster. I would love to see newer episodes of "office linebacker".

The best commercial from last year has to be Chrysler's "Imported From Detroit". Whereas other guys rushed in their 3 million message in 30 seconds, Chrysler took like 2 minutes to build up theirs and it was epic.

Terry Tate was in Faster? I completely spaced that out. Yeah, they need to bring the Office Linebacker back.

Chrysler Eminem Super Bowl Commercial - Imported From Detroit - YouTube
You know it cost Chrysler a fortune to air it too.

Another commercial for the big game this Sunday. It's from Kia and has Motley Crue, Chuck Liddell and the stunning Adriana Lima.

Not perhaps the funniest, but the TRUEST Super Bowl ad ever to air, from '05:

(So, I missed most of the commercial breaks--
What was the traditional annual Banned Ad this year, that only aired once before being banished away by the censors, never to return?
Y'know, like HAL for Macintosh, the kissing car repairmen, the Lollipop Guild, the "Rocket-sled" horse, or walking Christopher Reeve?

I know the ads aren't what they used to be now that we watch them all on the Intenet the week before, but it's TRADITION to tune in and see which ad got banned on Monday!)

The 1 that I really liked this year was the M&M commercial where the red M&M stripped down to his chocolate layer b/c “it was that kind of party!!”

I agree. Pretty lame. Also... more car commercials than I think I've ever seen.
