Default Blu Ray US Region Free Thread?

Any chance of a thread stating what discs released in the USA are region free and one for region locked. There is a thread on the International forum but not here, and as im in the UK it would be very useful!

Here you go: http://www.blurayregioncodes.com/index.php?region=a

You can also change it to Region B or C.

For the U.S., it is much easier determining the region status by which studio released it. Warner, Paramount and Universal always release everything region-free, so as long they distribute the movie the BD will be playable anywhere. The major studios all have consistent standards in determining what is region-free and what is not for the most part. The trouble comes from the minor distributors, who rarely own global distribution rights to a film. Criterion is often prevented from releasing their Blu-rays as anything but region-locked Blu-rays.

Right, and it's always a crap shoot when it comes to Fox and Sony. Some of their titles are region free and some are not. Disney also always locks their titles to Region A in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

Really? I've got plenty of region free US releases from Disney.

Most new releases from Disney are region-locked, though it has become more sporadic in the past year. Disney and Fox were the two main studios behind region coding on Blu-ray.
