The movie will be available to purchase Digitally and on Blu-ray on August 22, 2023.

Fans can now pre-save Dethklok’s highly anticipated Dethalbum IV which includes all new original Dethklok songs, also releasing on August 22. The second album release, Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack), will include additional songs plus an original movie score and will be released August 25.

Both albums will be released through WaterTower Music, who today released “Aortic Desecration”, the first new music from Dethalbum IV, and Dethklock’s first new music in almost 10 years! Dethalbum IV will also be available on vinyl through Mondo, and vinyl preorders are now live.

Army of the Doomstar stars Small, Tommy Blacha, Victor Brandt (Metalocalypse), Stephen “Thundercat” Bruner (Grammy® Award-winning musician), King Diamond, Mark Hamill (“Batman: The Animated Series”), Kirk Hammett, Jon Hamm (Top Gun: Maverick), Scott Ian, Amy Lee, Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange), Juliet Mills, Laraine Newman (“Saturday Night Live”), Raya Yarbrough (Metalocalypse: The Doomstar Requiem – a Klok Opera), and Livia Zita.

There is still hope. It looks like the Ventures are UHD. So I'm hopeful and assuming that Army will be also.

Right now it's SD and HD. If memory serves the Ventures we're also like this.

The new album is pretty awesome, will be watching the movie tonight and when the soundtrack drops on Friday I'll be picking that up as well.

Just finished a rewatch of the show. Should have dug out my old dvds out of storage, because Max's presentation of the show is horrible. Some episodes are fully censored, some are partially, some have audio drop outs instead of the guitar feedback. One episode had the profanity censors come in half a second too late. Hope to see the entire series get put on bluray.

Starting the movie now. I'm pretty excited for it. Had to drive around town to find a copy only to find a single copy at Walmart.

Video - picture was murky and dim. This might have been an attempt to look more cinematic or perhaps some kind of colorspace authoring error?

Audio - dialog was largely unintelligible throughout similar to Inception. Perhaps the sound design was for background music to play consistently loud with normal dialog levels but I found it unsatisfactory. I know a lot of people complain about dialog nowadays so I guess I finally joined them.

None of these problems last week watching the Venture Bros. movie so I tend to think it’s something going on with this disc.

Plot and characters - good as always. May have to run through it again with subtitles on (if it has them).

I found my copy at Walmart. But they only had two on the shelf, and my neighborhood isn't really into US animation, metal, or blurays, lol

My local Wal-Mart had four copies on the shelf, and I live in a town with less than 2,000 people. Check your local stores.

Cheers to those who found a copy. I have been to Best Buy and three Walmart stores and no one is carrying a copy. (The Venture Bros. movie was on the shelves, but not Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar.) I ordered my copy from Deep Discount and it has not shipped yet. This disc must be difficult to find!
