Amazon Prime issues...no more 1 day shipping?

I've noticed a few times in recent months that there doesn't seem be to 1 day shipping for pre-order items, and in the case of the items there's two options.

1. two day shipping (regular cost)
2. two day free shipping.

Often the 2nd option STILL charges you 3.99 for the shipping, such as when I placed a pre-order for Inception Bluray/DVD/Digital Copy set.

What gives?

Maybe they're hoping you're stupid and won't notice? Sorry I have no clue. I have a prime account as well, but I got the Amazon Prime for students. How long do you have until you need to renew your account?

right now it's doing that because of the holiday push... I noticed it the other day, but it was because they couldn't guarantee arrival Saturday or Monday for purchases made on Wed or later. I bet it's back in a couple days after the mad 5 day dash (Thurs-Mon) has all been sent out.
