Default Mac Mini and 1080p

If I connect a $699 basic Mac Mini to my 1080p HDTV, will high definition images/videos be displayed at that resolution?

Yes. According to the mac mini page:

Mini DisplayPort with support for up to 2560-by-1600 resolution
HDMI port with support for up to 1920-by-1200 resolution

http://www.apple.com/ca/macmini/specs.html

It has a NVIDIA 320M video card supports PureVideo HD, a video decoding technology for HD playback.

Your good to go for 1080p playback.

With a caviat. iTunes HD material is currently limited to 720p.

(Still angry they don't have a BD drive in Mac Mini's - Way to keep up Apple!)
