Default Tony Jaa on Blu-ray all around the world and America

How many BD releases?
What about the picture quality for each, taking in account they are low-budgeted movies?
What are the best TJ releases all around the world?

Thank you so much !!!!!!!!!!

I own Ong Bak, Ong Bak 2 and The Protector.

Ong Bak 2 and The Protector look great on blu....Ong Bak 1 looks pretty bad

I've also seen Hard Gun on blu and that was pretty rough looking too

TONY JAA RULES!

The BIGGEST disappointment is the fact the (American) PROTECTOR BD features the crappy American cut which left out about 25 minutes of fights!
I've heard the Thai BD features the uncut version, just hope the picture quality is excellent!

I don't believe it left out 25 minutes of the fights but it takes out around 25mins of the story the "slower parts" of the movie, The Thai cut is longer and is a better movie with more meaning but of course they messed it up and didn't include the DTS-MA track that is on the American cut.

Jaa is the first martial artist that has impressed the Hell out of me since Bruce Lee. The others are good, no doubt but Jaa simply 'wow'ed' me right from the beginning. He needs better material, better scripts and more importantly, get him on an american production to highlight what he can do like Enter The Dragon for Lee. Like Bruce, he's capable of doing more... give him the chance!

Tony Jaa is just an overrated glorified stunt man. He's a bad actor, has an awful voice, and doesn't have any presence in any of the films he's been in. He only seems bad-ass because they just have people walking into his punches and kicks. He will never be at the same level of Jet Li or Jackie Chan even if he was given better scripts. I see more potential in Piphat Apiraktanakorn, Thailand's famous comedian than in Tony Jaa. Piphat won't ever get as internationally famous as Jaa, but at least Piphat has a character and personality.

The Protector is Jaa's best film and the USA blu-ray is pretty damn good - much better than the Korean DVD...

Yeah, but those "slower" parts featured Jaa himself, even if he wasn't fighting... so I'm puzzled.

I own Ong Bak and The Protector on DVD, but I own Ong Bak 2 on Blu Ray. The movie looks really good and the AQ is good as well.

I don't know about getting him on an American production. I haven't seen an American martial arts movie I've really liked in a long time. I mean look at "The Warrior's Way", that looks like a CGI fest.

The American blu-ray has BOTH versions.

By the way, what's the deal with the ONG BAK 1 Blu-Ray? I've heard the movie cannot look better than this, given its ridiculous budget and cheap film stock. I've read it is a huge step above the DVD anyway.

Now that TONY JAA - the only true successor to Bruce Lee - has turned into a monk and retired, we can kiss the martial arts cinema goodbye.

IMHO, Hard Gun is not even a "proper" Jaa movie, he only appears on it for 10 minutes or so. Plus, picture quality sucks because they filmed that on garbage celluloid. It's impossible to improve it, that's truly the best you can get.

I agree, he's an excellent martial artist but he's got next to no presence on screen. Jacky Wu would have made an excellent torch passer but his presence can be a bit lacking too (although he plays fantastic villains).

I hated the movie. I do enjoy his other ones though.
