Thought I would share this with my US friends, the car is getting a uk bluray release soon. New HD transfer and extras including reversible cover art. Anyone who likes this with a region free player should grab it.

Fantastic news indeed. I couldn't care less about SF, so this is a definite buy.

I remember when most Arrow releases were reagion free. Why are they locking these up now? I own quite a few region free titles from them and they are awesome. I would have imported The Car and The Last American Virgin.

There's probably some agreement in effect with Shout in the US that both studios will region lock their respective versions in order not to compete with one another.

This is one of my re-discovered favorite films. I saw it as a kid and then years later I saw it on late night tv and really enjoyed seeing it. Then Anchor Bay I think put out a DVD that was pretty hard to find and I watched it a lot. I have been dieing for this to come to BR and with some cool extras. I hope it is worth the anticipation.

They've said on twitter that they'd like to make their releases region free where possible, contractual demands in these cases.

How bizarre... Friday evening I watched the Blu-ray of Octopussy that had James Brolin's Bond screen tests, two days after that I was nosing through my Razzie Movie Guide and came across this film(which ofcourse stars James Brolin)...
Now two days later, I find out that it is being released on Blu-ray! Is it as un-intentionally hilarious as they say? |
