Default Ebert likes Blu, won't buy it!

Look at the blurb on the home page about Roger Ebert.

Here's a guy whose livelihood is based on his passion for movies. He knows Blu-ray is the superior format, and he surely could buy any player he wanted.

And he says "I'm looking forward to testing HiDef and Blu Ray DVDs, but I'm damned if I'll buy a machine until they settle their war."

Now if freakin' Roger Ebert won't buy the format he knows is superior because of the format war, how the hell does anybody expect "Joe6Pack" to buy either? That's how toxic this format war is to HDM.

Most people are waiting. Can't blame them. ...as much as i would love it if he bought one (Just to sell another BDPlayer), the smart thing to do is just wait.
Thank god im not smart.

You'd think someone with money like him would not have to wait to buy one. What a Sally.

He probably doesn't have to buy one, I bet he gets things like that given to him.

I am going to give the guy a break because he has cancer. I am sure he has more important things to worry about. I am sure the top of his list of things to worry about:
1) Malignant tumors
1a) Not Dying from tumors
2) Blu-Ray's superiority

Back in High School, I met both Roger, and Gene Siskel on a class trip to Chicago (we tracked them both down at their offices)..

I have to say that Siskel was the nicer of the two He must have taken nearly an hour to talk with us about future careers in journalism, where as Ebert said "hi", signed autographs, and left.

I would not have bought a HD player myself if only standalones were available. But the PS3 kinda forces you into the blu-ray camp

I would imagine that he probably had to put something out there because of the statement he made first--that Blu is superior technology. With him being a movie critic, he's looked at by both HD enthusiasts and who knows what has already been written to him. With being sick, he can't take much stress.

Spending all his money on snacks, obviously.

Where's the guy on this forum with 3 machines doing nothing? Send one to Roger.

Used to like Siskel and Ebert a lot. Roger, you tool, bite the bullet! You would do your viewers a service! Oh, wait, you haven't done your own show in months. Moron.
