Australia The killer inside me may be cut!

Just got back from jbhifi to pick up the killer inside me (damn holidays I spend way to much) I noticed the runtime is 104. All other versions of the blu run 108. The original uncut version is 108 and listed as original. The dd and blu are both listed modified on the classification website. Anyone have a definitive answer on the cut status of the blu? I was really looking Howard to seeing this but don't want a truncated film.

Sounds to me like the usual 4% PAL difference for DVD. Lazy cover designers often just use the DVD spec for runtimes.

What concerns me though is the classification board lists the blu and DVD as modified but the theatrical version I saw as original/unmodified

You'll notice a lot of Blu-rays and DVDs are listed as "Modified" on the classification website, so you shouldn't worry. Take a look at Kick-Ass, How to Train Your Dragon, Toy Story 3, Grown Ups, Get Him to the Greek, Centurion, Knight & Day and a lot more, they're all listed as "Modified" but aren't cut.

I have sent an e-mail to Icon, but as I always say, getting an answer is rarer than hens teeth.

Thanks for that. I didn't import it because I'd rather buy locally but if we get inferior products I have to. Take centurion and expendables for example. Centurion is in the wring oar and expendable is missing a hour and a half doco. Really these days we should be receiving the same product everywhere. And on top of that until I find out for sure If it's cut or not I'm not dropping 40 dollars on it. He'll despicable me was only 28 at jbhifi

My day-to-day work involves submitting films to the Classification Board to be classified (not surprisingly!).

The Board use the term "Modified" to indicate if this is the second application they have received for a particular title - so,

the 35mm cinema version of Killer Inside Me is the "original" version

the DVD and Blu-ray versions, which had to be reclassified because they include bonus extras like commentary and interviews, now become the "modified" version.

It's confusing to someone who isn't aware of the process, but rest assured 99.9% of the non X-rated titles which are listed on the classification website as "modified" are in fact uncut.

Yeah Dumb and Dumber is the stupid American 'Unrated' version which still doesn't contain the "little old lady" scene which is present on the aussie dvd. but thats another topic lol

And the extended bath scene really cheapens the friendship in my opinion, making for a much less satisfying storyline.

I've never seen the extended cut is it really that bad? Is the original theatrical cut available anywhere on blu?

Ok I checked the running time the film is 109 minutes from start to end of credits. When companies list running times is it to the end I credits? If so It appears this film is uncut

modified can mean its a home edition with added content such as extras..or more than one version of a movie
* the cinema rating info wont have that now would it?
yes companys are lazy a-holes who dont give a stuff.
roadshow had the wrong time for halloween (2007) as they put what would be the pal runtime on the bluray (116mins) but its 121mins sony usually gets it right i haven't come along many incorrect sony blurays.. they put 2 run times on Blu-rays with two cuts of a movie.
