I've had my Momitsu BDP-899 for around 2 years now and have yet to have a problem with it. I got an Emotiva UMC-1 processor and am loving separates. Only thing is that the remotes of the UMC-1 and the BDP-899 are mixed somehow. When I press 'Up' on the Blu-Ray player remote, it changes the input on the UMC-1, when I press 'Up' on the volume on the UMC-1 remote, it does a 'FullStop' on the Blu-Ray player.
These types of problems go on, simply put, the signals are somehow mixed. I'm getting the new remote for the UMC-1 in the mail any day, so that should fix it doing stuff to the Blu-Ray player. Is there a way of changing the code in the remote of the Blu-Ray player so that it doesn't mess with the processor? It's getting frustrating to have to manually control everything. How do I fix this? Please get back to me as soon as you can. Thanks everyone. Last edited by 28BlusLater; 08-09-2010 at 07:48 AM. |

I looked at both manuals for your equipment. I don't see any way to change the remote address codes for either piece. They are on the same code and I don't see any way around it, other than getting a different brand blu-ray player. Hopefully someone can suggest another option, I just don't see one.

I don't want to get a different player than my Momitsu since I haven't ever had to update its firmware and it's region free. My region locked releases would be useless if I was to get rid of the Momitsu. Including I love that it does Bitstream HD. There has to be some sort of way to re-configure the remotes or SOMETHING...I'm going to continue to look online and I hope I get more responses on here. Thanks blujack for your input. |

That's the thing...even though they're apart from each other, the signal still goes to both. Only way is to walk directly up to the unit and do it, then it doesn't go to the other. So, getting a Harmony remote wouldn't solve the problem? |

Dammit.
SO anybody else have any idea on what I should do? This has to the be the most frustrating problem I've had with my system. I hate having to manually do everything, it's so damn irritating. Somebody please help! I e-mailed Emotiva, and they said that the new remote has new codes, so that SHOULD get rid of the problem of me controlling the UMC-1, but now I still have to deal with the problem of the BDP-899... |
