Default Looking for the name of a TV show

Yesterday there was Karate Kid part III on a TV channel that play old movie, and I saw an actor that remind me of someone in a show I use to watch while I was a kid.
The actor is Thomas Ian Griffith
I try to see if he have played in any old show (end of 80s/beginning of 90s) but it seems that it's not him.
The only part that I remind of that show it's that it's around a teenage girl who use magic to get through any hard situation, and that the guy who looks like Thomas Ian Griffith help him with it.

So does someone know any actor who looks like Thomas Ian Griffith and that have play in a TV show in the early 90s ?

Edit : and the show is probably canadian, or at least it was translate in french
