Default BD live problems

I can't get any content via BD live, and I have no idea what is wrong. I know that I am connected to the internet, because I successfully downloaded the most recent update on my player. Any suggestions?

what player do you have? what disc are you using? not all bd disc offer bd live content, also there right now isnt an awful lot of content to begin with.

some players require that you have an external usb drive hooked up of at least 1gb, but it seems more and more that youll need about 2gb.

hope this helps

Im having the same problem
I have the Panasonic DMP-BD60
I have a 20mb Virgin Media Broadband connection
The internet connection works fine as I have updated the player’s firmware and have accessed YouTube on it.
In the Disc section of the setup menu I have changed the BD-Live Internet Access from Limit (Internet access is permitted only for BD-Live contents which have content owner certificates) to Permit (Internet access is permitted for all BD-Live contents)
But I have tried a few movies that have BD Live content:

Harry Potter and the half blood prince.
Inglorious Basterds.
The Hangover.

When I tried the "What’s New" section on Inglorious Basterds I got a message saying "Coming Soon"

When I tried the "Warner Bros BD-LIVE" option on Harry Potter I got the following message:
"This feature playable on Blu-ray Disc players with BD-live capability and appropriate internet connections.
Your playback device may require a firmware upgrade. Not all playback devices are upgradeable. To determine if your playback device is upgradable, consult your hardware manufacturer for more information"

When I tried The "Warner Bros BD-LIVE" option on The Hangover I got the following message:
"This feature requires a BD-Live enabled Blu-ray Disc Player, A working internet connection and local storage (memory card, internet hard drive or other storage device) with sufficient capacity and free space. Consult your hardware manufacturer for more information"

After reading this I formatted my 8Gig USB pen, plugged it in to the player, restarted the player and tried the "Warner Bros BD-LIVE" option again and got the same message

Someone please help me out this is doing my head in

You need to use an SD memory card. 1 GB should suffice. Format the card in the player, not in your computer.

In any case, you will be disappointed even after you get BD-Live working. The content isn't worth the effort.

:
That is BD Live issue, not an issue with your Player. This is an indication of how pointless BD Live has become.

If you're using american discs, your IP is likely blocked on Basterds.

You must use an SD card, the USB port is not for BD Live

Default WB BD-Live Problems

I'm having a problem trying to access BD-Live content on my Samsung C5500. I registered through Warner Brothers through the player, activated the account on my laptop, but now I put in my information, press "Login" and nothing happens. At all.

I can access other internet content on the player (Pandora, Internet@TV, etc.) so I don't think I need a firmware update.

The content I'm trying to access is on the Inception BD. It's the only one I have as I got both the player and disc for Christmas this year.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm going to try the flash card or SD Card and see if that fixes the problem. I've been having the same thing MrArmistice and find it weird that BD Live is the only thing that isn't getting a connection to the internet. Anyway, you might look up your manual and see what it says. I have to do the same before dropping some funds.

Hi Mr Armistice,

For the Samsung players, you must insert a 2GB or larger flashdrive in the back.

Hope this helps.

Hi Donster,

Do you have a Samsung player also?

Samsung needs 2GB or greater flashdrive
Sony (non PS3) needs 2GB or greater flashdrive
Panasonic needs 2GB or greater SD card

Also in Settings, make sure BD-Live is set to "Allow All"

Hope this helps
