Ok, so I own just about every single Marvel film (minus Doctor Strange) so far.
I'm sure several of you do so also, my question is, when you put them on your shelf, do you place them in alphabetical order? Or chronological order? I had mine in alphabetical order and mixed with other superhero films, like DC, Ninja Turtles and X Men. But, since there's SO MANY Marvel films, I'm thinking of putting them in chronological order, so I can go back and try to refresh my memory of certain happenings. What do you do? Chronological order so far would be: Captain America: The First Avenger Iron Man The Incredible Hulk Iron Man 2 Thor The Avengers Iron Man 3 Thor: The Dark World Captain America: The Winter Solider Guardians of the Galaxy The Avengers: Age of Ultron Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Ant Man Captain America: Civil War Doctor Stranger ( I don't own) Spider-man: Homecoming Thor: Ragnarok COMING SOON: Black Panther Avengers: Infinity War Antman & the Wasp Captain Marvel |

Chronological, and that's including the ones Marvel didn't make themselves.

I own all of the current franchise Marvel Studios films on Blu-ray except for the two Iron Man sequels, which were pretty underwhelming to me. I'll probably get around to owning them in the future just on principle, but I'm in no hurry.
I arrange mine in chronological order by release date. Iron Man The Incredible Hulk Thor Captain America: The First Avenger The Avengers Thor: The Dark World Captain America: The Winter Soldier Guardians of the Galaxy Avengers: Age of Ultron Ant-Man Captain America: Civil War Doctor Strange Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Spider-Man: Homecoming Thor: Ragnarok |

I order them by the release date, it makes the most sense to me. I dont consider Iron Man trilogy, Cap trilogy etc in that way. Marvel has always been a single large story to me so I like putting them in chronological order.

I used to just put everything in ABC order on my shelf, but then I started grouping some stuff by franchise, putting Marvel Cinematic Universe, Peanuts, and Studio Ghibli together. Now I put them in chronological order by release and then sequential order when it comes to connected stuff like MCU. All unconnected Marvel stays in general ABC order based on sequence.

If you go by the "story takes place in the past" mentality then Doctor Strange could be in different places too, his movie obviously takes place over a couple years. Same could be said for Spider-Man: Homecoming, it supposedly takes place 8 years after The Avengers, which would put it in 2020 even though Infinity Wars is supposed to take place in 2018. So not even Marvel knows. ![]() https://www.polygon.com/2017/7/10/15...arvel-timeline What do you do about GOTG2 then? That takes place months after the first, so it belongs before Age of Ultron. Right now I have them in this order:
Iron Man 1, IM2, Thor, Cap1, AVG1, IM3, Thor2, Cap2, GOTG, AVG2, Ant, Cap3, GOTG2, Spider, and Thor3. I don't own the Hulk or Strange movies, or the TV shows. Then on the same shelf I have the X-Men movies in release order ending with Logan. Logan is the bigger WM slipcase version, and I have both the regular and the Target metal box version of Origins. (It looks nice.) The shelf is just big enough that the SW box set fits on the end, so I can take that out and put 2 more movies in its place and have a Marvel shelf. |

As of now, my shelf arrangement is
Hulk/IncredHulk/Ironman1-3/CapAmerica1990/CapAmertica1-3/Thor1-3/Avengers1-2/GOTG1-2/Antman/DocStrange/Fan4 1-2/Fan4reboot/Daredevil/Elektra/Spiderman films/HowardtheDuck Basically, I group together a character's entire film history, seemingly in order of oldest appearance. Not sure why I put Spider-man at the end. But I'm sure someday I will rearrange it and will probably keep the MCU films together in release order. Not sure how I will handle non-MCU films. There's a few animated movies and TV series mixed in with those too. I keep Blade with my vampire films. I guess Blade isn't superhero enough to me. |

I have them in the viewing order suggested by Den of Geek:
http://www.denofgeek.com/us/movies/m...-viewing-order ...and I do mix in the MCU TV shows as suggested (Not breaking up the individual seasons on the shelf obviously). All slipcovered editions (except UK AoS s3), on their own shelf. |

I have steelbooks for all my cinematic universes (MCU, DCEU, SW, etc) which is how i distinguish them from non-connected works. For the MCU, the steelbooks are organized by release date which I feel is the most straightforward way to keep them.
