Default Blu-ray playback on OSX

Saw this article online and wanted to post it for those interested.sorry in advance if its already been posted. sounds kinda hokey to me that you have to have an internet connection to playback a BD on a mac but i guess its a start... still not enough to pursuade me into buying one though. i meant to say OS X not OSX..

Looks like a Blu-ray decrypter with a media player tacked on.

The website seems to be registered in China and I don't see mention of official licenses.

It's not a question of seeking Apple's approval. Any software publisher that puts out a Blu-ray player must obtain format licenses from the Blu-ray Disc Association as well patent licenses from the many intellectual property owners involved.

I first saw the news on this a few hours ago, and I just posted in the general chat board. This is pretty sweet, assuming that they get it to work right. According to this review, it's pretty buggy right now.

I've been waiting for this for years, as I really want to start authoring Blu-ray discs — not only for my customers who want full-length HD videos, but for my own use for family videos. Hopefully this is a first step, or at least a floodgate opener for other and better software developers.
