Hi Folks: I just finished hooking up my PS-3 and downloading PS-3 Media server. I'm having a problem when playing my music files it skips frequently I'm using cat6 cables all round,a D-Link-655 router,A Cisco switch SF100D-08 (With QoS) . Running the PS-3 Media server in default settings. What should I change to get rid of the skipping problem? Thanks in advance!

Haven't had any trouble but you can try going into Common transcode setting - general settings - Boost up your Cores to the max for your CPU and could prob mess around with buffer size. If it helps mine is set at 400.0 and 8 cores.
If I remember mp4 files use to skipfew yrs ago what files are you trying to stream. Last edited by BDestroyer8418; 06-28-2011 at 07:41 PM. |

Check your router speed, the configuration of the PS3, here it runs smoothly with the PS3/X360.
But when I'm doing something that uses complete the PC's power, the icon tends to not appear, or it takes a bit too long. Note: It's called PS3 Media Server not "PS-3 Media Server". For transcoding you should worry if you got the right hardware, but for streaming files that PS3 reads natively there's nothing to bother about. |

I had a similar problem. I solved it by changing the setting on my PS3, go to the music settings on menu then go to output frequency and set it at 44.1/88.2/176.4 khz. See if that works.
