MOANA - 49.295 MILLION (3-Day)/69.455 MILLION (5-Day)
ALLIED - 22.125 MILLION (3-Day)/31.285 MILLION (5-Day)
BAD SANTA 2 - 16.485 MILLION (3-Day)/23.66 MILLION (5-Day)
RULES DON'T APPLY - 3.261 MILLION (3-Day)/4.361 MILLION (5-Day)

I think Moana will be more Tangled than Frozen. What will really hurt is already having heavy competition for families with Fantastic Beasts and Trolls.

Moana should be the big opener. Allied hasn't been marketed very well, Bad Santa 2 came too late to make an impact, while Rules Don't Apply has a niche audience (I don't know why Fox isn't opening this limited and expanding on the 9th).

And is a four week old movie really big competition for Moana? Most of the target audience has already seen Trolls and they'll be hungry to get away from leftovers and football (not to mention long lines and violence over their parents wanting that last microwave oven). The only competition for Moana is the free Saturday morning sneak preview of Sing and that will only be at 10:00 am (I could see a few people go to the Sing preview and Moana afterwards, seeing two movies for the price of one).

Moana will handily win the weekend for new releases. One: It looks awesome and I can't wait to see it myself, but Two: It is a family film and Thanksgiving is a family holiday. It just depends on how strong Fantastic Beasts and Doctor Strange hold and will they still be able to chip away at Moana's earnings. It will still be a winner though. #Dwayne Johnson is a superstar.

Seeing 2 movies with my parents on Thanksgiving. Just bought our tickets for Arrival and Allied. Paramount must be happy.

That's nice you get to spend time with your family. My mom is coming to visit me on Wednesday and we will probably go to the movies. My mom and stepdad watched Valkyrie back on Christmas Day in '08 and that was a lot of fun

Trolls coupled with Beasts is a threat. Moana will still do great and be very leggy of course. Will probably top the weekend. But competition will prevent a HUGE opening, IMO.

Bad Santa 2 is going to flop so hard. Nobody asked for a sequel nor do people care for it after almost 15 years of the original.

I'd say Moana is going to open somewhere in the $75 million range since it drops on a Wednesday. But it is going to make bank in its first five days since it is getting great reviews, family films flourish this weekend, and Dwayne Johnson has a dedicated fan base.

Three Day: $75 million
Five Day: $110 million

Billy Lynn is down to 1 showtime tomorrow at my theater. Deepwater Horizon, Girl on Train and Joneses will still be here.

I still want to see Fantastic Beasts, Moonlight and Hacksaw Ridge.

I think people wanted one a long time ago but it's coming so late. They should have had one right away.
