Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced that they will release the 2011 European thriller, Retreat on Blu-ray.

The film stars Cilian Murphy (The Dark Knight) and Thandie Newton (Crash) as a struggling couple who embark on a mountainous island retreat to rekindle their relationship. Their vacation takes a turn however when a blood-soaked stranger appears on their doorstep claiming that a deadly disease is sweeping across Europe.

Retreat will mark the feature length debut for director Carl Tibbetts. Jamie Bell (The Adventures of Tintin) and Jimmy Yuill (EastEnders) also star.

I think Sony decided to give this a DVD only release. DVD Aficionado shows 2/21/2012.
