This reminds me, I would LOVE to see my all-time favorite pairing of Colbert and Ameche, Midnight (1939), hit Blu-ray. The film also stars John Barrymore, was directed by Mitchell Leisen and was written by Charles Brackett and Billy Wilder. An absolutely hilarious screwball comedy from the '30's.

Sounds more like Hitchcock material than Douglas Sirk, but it is intriguing and I like when directors take on material that's different from their usual ground, the results can be very interesting.

It's always good to see Sirk on Blu-ray, but I wished we would finally get his major films: Imitation of Life, All That Heaven Allows, Written on the Wind and Magnificent Obsession.

yeah Criterion really needs to get some of the Sirk they have out on bd asap.
Perhaps they are waiting for new scans, although Magnificent Obsession seems like it is ready.
