Blu-ray movies and PS3

just new to blu ray has i have just bought a ps3 i was just wondering do all blu ray movies play on ps3's and why does it say ps3 compatible on some boxes?

Yeah, they all play on the PS3 and btw, the PS3 is one of the better blu-ray players so I think you'll be happy with it.

Yup, all Blu movies will play on the PS3...just keep your firmware updated

Yes, all Blu-ray's will play on your PS3 - just be aware that some title have region encoding (similar to DVD) and may not work if your Blu-ray and PS3 are from different regions.

The reason they put "PS3 compatible" on some cases is that it is one more easy way to let people know that the PS3 is a Blu-ray player. As such, you will notice that sticker is only on Sony released Blu-ray titles. The reason behind it all is that there are survey numbers that show only approx 30% of PS3 owners know about the Blu-ray playback ability in the system. The other 70% think it is strictly and solely a gaming system. We need to get the word out to help the Blu-ray numbers soar to victory.

yeah what he said...just to further the movement of knowledge and information that the ps3 is a bluray player...thats all.
