Who is yours, and why?
Mine is G2 Pictures. Most of their releases are shoddy when it comes to PQ, and they rarely have (decent) extras, and they never have subtitles included! ![]() Lets get a discussion going on this. |

Although most of their releases have great transfers, I find the pop-up menus on 'Lionsgate' releases to be very irritating. They take several seconds to appear, particularly with releases such as Cop Land, Pulp Fiction and The Bank Job.

I'd probably say Warner Bros. Picture quality is often subpar.
My favourite is Disney but as of the last two years their quality has slipped dramatically. Barebones releases No disc art No slipcovers Tarzan Transfer **** up Expensive compared to other countries Hit and miss picture and sound quality |

I think that's an American closed captioning thing.
Though my personal annoyance is when they deliberately shorten the subtitles in comedies, and it kills the joke. Yes, eOne you did ruin Goon with your subtitles and you missed the commentary, and I'd love to know what the blue line during the Highlanders introduction scene is (though to be fair it appears to be a problem with the master rather than specifically eOne) |

So far it's EIV just their cases are so bad. It was always like that even on VHS and DVD. There there's no extras or less extras compared to the US release.
I also don't like releases without a menu as well |

Besides if you think it stupid then that is your own opinion which I don't really care about frankly. Last edited by Andy2992; 07-09-2013 at 12:01 AM. |

The only distributor that has actually ruined my enjoyment of a film is Eureka, specifically the subtitling on 'Das Testament des Dr. Mabuse' which often is indistinguishable from the background. White subtitles on white background can be done very well without destroying the subtlety of the text or the enjoyment of the film - see Universum's release of Fritz Lang's M.
I did write to them on the issue and they were kind enough to address it which only adds to my respect for them and the good work they do ![]() |

I'd have to say Entertainement One. I hate having adverts for things like Snickers and malteasers on a blu ray. I paid for the blu ray therfore I shouldnt have things like adverts. I don't mind trailers for films but not adverts.

Paramount animated releases are fantastic by comparrison. They still include things like slipcovers and digital copies. Last edited by Monkeyspoons Revenge; 07-08-2013 at 01:50 PM. |
