Not sure if this has been reported:
![]() https://www.amazon.de/dp/B01HCKSDUY I notice that they're also releasing mediabooks of Taste the Blood of Dracula and Dracula Has Risen from the Grave, as well as The Horror of Dracula (https://www.amazon.de/Dracula-Mediab.../dp/B01HCKSDSQ). All of these titles were released on DVD in Germany by Warner, which would suggest ELEA-Media have licenced these titles through them. If so, does this mean we can expect US releases of The Horror of Dracula and Dracula A.D. 1972 later this year? It wouldn't be too great a shock, given that any second wave of Hammer titles would surely feature these two. It should be noted that the WHV Blu-rays of Taste and Grave both featured German audio and subs, so it would make sense if they were intended for the German market eventually (and so that these are essentially the same discs). Therefore it might be pertinent that DTM are listing various audio and subs options for Horror of Dracula and Dracula A.D. 1972 also (probably not yet final in any case - there may be more options): http://shop.dtm.at/product_info.php?products_id=62323 http://shop.dtm.at/product_info.php?products_id=62321 Last edited by BarnDoor; 06-28-2016 at 04:46 PM. |

I sure hope that these are part of the warner brothers part 2 and hopefully part 3 hammer sets . Getting those media discs from germany at those prices are not realistic for me and I would think a lot more people .
With so many hammer movies coming out this fall I would think everyone would want to get in on it . These collections at about $8 a movie are a no brainier and I'm sure many of us would welcome every movie studio doing as much as they can . I think it would be in there best interest to have a big 2016/17 then wait to be the only company to put a set out a year or years later, some people may have lost interest by then . |

So it appears all 4 Warner Bros-distributed Hammer Dracula titles got a Blu-ray mediabook release in Germany this month. Anyone picked up (Horror of) Dracula? I have the UK BFI bd release as well as a HD showing of HoD off of TMC and am wondering if this is just a old HD scan of HoD or a new scan/restoration that Warner Bros has supposedly been toiling over for some time now.

I was hoping for a decent transfer, if only to prove that (contrary to popular 80s belief) Mr Alucard doesn't dislike jazz. Last edited by WilsonBros; 07-29-2016 at 10:18 AM. |

The BBC version of the film is the BBFC one with the 1 second cut of the closeup staking although no doubt that would be cleared today if resubmitted

The BBC version has the original Warner Bros copyright card, IIRC.
I guess they used the UKVV (I'm sure I've seen it uncut on some channel through...) Films like these would sail thru the BBFC these days. Probably be lucky to keep it's '18' certificate. |
