it wasn't "on sale"; it was "for sale" meaning they are selling it.
same price as you listed.
It is kind of expensive, but I just really don't see this coming to the US anytime soon unless some smaller company happens to decide to release it.
It's a pretty obscure title imo.
(Japan, of course, is region a, and that's another reason I decided to order it--even though I can play locked titles if I need to, it's more of a hassle for sure due to that specific player's various little quirks)

Ah...thanks for the clarification. At least I didn't miss anything. I can play region-locked discs so no issue there for me, either. It's a couple bucks less at CDJapan, but Yesasia boasts free international shipping.

It's a favorite of mine and I still have the widescreen Uni laserdisc from the '90s. Will have to think hard about this one, as I would agree that a domestic Blu-ray is not so likely, particularly since Uni has already released a "Vault Series" MOD disc of the film. Would be nice if the Japanese Blu-ray could have at least ported over a trailer...the laserdisc I have, which I will hang onto, has a nice reissue trailer under the title WILLIE BOY.

It seems like a studio film almost needs to be horror or sci-fi to be released on Blu by the boutique labels here (i.e. Shout Factory!) or from Paramount so that Olive can release it or Sony / Fox (Twilight Time and Image).

received this in the mail today. This is actually a Paramount bd of a Universal movie. the bd has an inner ring around a silkscreen image of Redford that reads "Paramount high definition" with the mountain logo in front. The Paramount logo is also on the back and on the spine.

What can you tell us about the quality of this disc? Worth importing?
