The Monkey King and the Fruit of Immortality (1981) - WCL Exclusive Limited Edition

Disk Kino is going to release the classic animation The Monkey King and the Fruit of Immortality on blu-ray as part of their WCL series, together with four additional shorts from Shanghai Animation Studio.



This release contains five films:

Pigsy Eats Watermelon (1958, 22 minutes) by Wan Guchan
The Mountain of Flames (1958, 35 minutes) by Jin Xi & You Lei
Dingding vs. the Monkey King (1980, 28 minutes) by Hu Jinqing
The Monkey King and the Fruit of Immortality (1981, 45 minutes) by Yan Dingxian
The Wily Creature (1983, 20 minutes) by Jin Xuelin

All five films presented in HD from the master provided by Shanghai Animation Studio with original LPCM mono track. This release also includes a newly created 67-minute video essay on the history of animation works based on Journey to the West from Shanghai Animation Studio.
