Here is a thought, HD DVD gave Paramount $150 million dollars not make blu's for a 18 months (short term solution) If BDA put that same amount of an investment to bring down they're players to 199 that would end this format war in months.
Yes, I am aware that they would lose money every time the sell a player that where the 150 million dollars would be used for to compensate the companies making blu players. If Blu wins and it will, they will more than recoup that money in the long run something HD DVD wont to with they're short term Paramount investment

Lets say by the numbers that BDA had to pay each company an average $ 300 a company for each blu-ray player sold that means that they could sell half a million units at $199.
