Default Hopes for 2013

I personally am hoping for the rest of the David Lynch films, especially Eraserhead, Schindler's List, and the rest of the Friday the 13th series

I'm willing to bet you all those will come out this year. Eraserhead should hopefully come from Criterion Collection which is a heavy rumor that's believed by a lot. Schindler's List should be coming from Universal this year. My guess is Warner Bros, who currently has distribution rights, will release the remaing Friday the 13ths, possibly in a series set around Halloween.

The Wicker Man (Original), The rest of Lars Von Trier's films, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, Sydney (Original cut, not hard 8), Panic Room, and A good old fashioned orgy.

Edit: Punch Drunk Love & The Terminal.

Edit 2: Cabinet of Dr. Caligari

My hopes:

-Cats Don't Dance in a fully loaded Special Edition

-The first Phantasm released either before or after the Phantasm II Collector's Edition

-A re-release of The Evil Dead Limited Edition to coincide with the remake

-As also a Collector's Edition of Army Of Darkness with both cuts and new and old extras

-A Friday The 13th box set with all 12 films. Maybe even do an Ultimate Freddy Vs. Jason box set with all F13 and NOES films to commemorate FVJ'zs 10th anniversary

-The first Scanners released through Anchor Bay

-More Troma and Fox titles released through Anchor Bay

-Bad Taste and Meet The Feebles released on Blu-ray with Peter Jackson's supervision (maybe through Severin) in addition to a 20th Anniversary Collector's Edition of Dead Alive released by Lionsgate with both cuts and extras

-The release of It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, World Extended (192-minute) Cut

-The Pink Panther set including The Return Of The Pink Panther

-The release of the non-Sellers Pink Panther films also

-The release of the 2 remaining Charlie Brown (either by Paramount or through their sub-licensing deals with Olive or Warner)

-Shout! to continue to release Universal movies

-Blu-ray Collections of Disney Shorts

-Puppet Master 4 and 5 on Blu-ray

-35th Anniversary Edition of John Carpenter's Halloween

-30th Anniversary Edition of Monty Python's The Meaning Of Life

-A US Blu-ray of George A. Romero's Night Of The Living Dead released through Criterion

Wow, where to start! About time for Disney to get serious about its classic live action catalog. A bunch of the great Hammer films would be a treat. Roger Corman's Poe series of films with Vincent Price would please. Bob Hope films are curiously missing and should see the light of Blu! More classic animation collections would hit the mark. Ray Harryhausen's remaining cannon of films should be at the top of the list to honor this pioneer who has mentored and influenced most of today's top film makers. Ray's in his 90's now and has recorded commentary on all his films for posterity. Let's get the rest of his films out! Could go on, but that's enough for now. Must include a pitch for my all time favorite, "The Time Machine" from 1960. Nothing would please me more. Cheers!

Aside from current shoddily-released Blus that I'd like to see rereleased:

The 'Burbs - although with the way Universal's been treating older titles, I'm not hopeful that the quality would be that great or that there would be any new extras
Innerspace ...and anything else from Joe Dante
Joe Versus the Volcano
Zoolander
Barton Fink
La Dolce Vita
Bowfinger
Punch-Drunk Love
Hard Eight/Sydney
Mulholland Drive
and really, anything else from David Lynch, Steven Spielberg, or Robert Altman

For non-Disney animation, I'd love to see:
The Iron Giant
The Prince of Egypt
An American Tail
Over the Hedge
Charlotte's Web
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm

And for TV, I'd love to see:
Twin Peaks
Arrested Development
Curb Your Enthusiasm (the HD seasons)
Community - as a fan of the show, I've stopped asking "How could they do that?" But seriously. HOW is this not on Blu?

besides what's been confirmed (the next three months will be busy for me)

Splash (coming out overseas, hopefully a US release isn't far behind)
Flashdance (30th anniversary and the only one of the big Paramount 70s/80s movie musicals that hasn't been released on Blu)
Halloween 35th Anniversary (since its been hinted)
Friday The 13th pt. 4+
Eraserhead (Criterion)
Jaws 2 (35th anniversary)
The Rose
Yentl (30th anniversary)
Xanadu
Tootsie
Desperately Seeking Susan
Grease 2/Staying Alive (yes, both sequels are crap but I enjoy them)

What I hope for 2013 is in no order.

Maximum Overdrive with the taken out gore scenes along with other features like maybe one on the restored Green Goblin head.

Return Of The Living Dead finally in 3D with the Second Site features here in the US & Part 2.

Stargate SG1 with new commentary on the first 3 seasons not including the Pilot since it has one unless rest of the cast are doing it.

The others I would like with features I can't think of.

My Science Project, A Dog's Breakfast, Ghostbusters 2, Stephen King's Cat's Eye, The Wrong Guys, Bill & Teds Bogus Journey, Buffy & Angel, Critters, C.H.U.D, Army Of Darkness DC, Little Nicky & way more.

Naked Gun 33 1/3. I can't stand waiting for its release. Where is it? The seduction of Frank Drebin by Tanya Peters in the dressing room would be great in Blu-ray 1080p quality!
