Headset issue

I have bought a wireless stereo ps3 headset, but I can not hear my friends, but they can hear me. I can hear the gsme music etc. no sound from the tv, it goes to my wireless headset but Zi can't hear other players.

Please help!

I'm assuming you went to "accesories" then to "chat" to choose the headset?

First thing to check is your device settings.

From the XMB:

Settings > Accessories > Audio Devices

Find your headset and test its Input Level by speaking into the microphone and watching the volume meter. If you don't see the meter move, then there's something wrong with the headset.

It did move.

I have done the following things:

Both input and output is 'Wireless Stereo Headset'.
The level is on 3.
And I have selected that the sound from the TV speakers goes to my headset.

My friends did hear me, but I didn't hear them.
I changed a few things and then I was able to hear them, but they were not able to hear me.

My headset also doesn't turn on sometimes. It makes me crazy!
I try to switch it on, but it doesn't connect to my PS3! Sometimes it does, sometimes it does not.

I have 2 other PS3 headsets (those small things you put on 1 ear).

Just glanced through the thread, so I'm not sure if you mentioned this. There's another switch, I think it's on the front of the left ear piece, that switches the level between in-game sound and voice. Make sure it's not turned all the way towards the game sound.
