John Goodman should get a nomination for Flight, but he probably won't. Denzel could get one too.

Goodman should have got a nom for Red State along with Michael Parks!! But I think if he gets a nom this year it would be Supporting actor for Argo...

It wouldn't surprise me if The Dark Knight Rises gets a few nominations, simply to honor the trilogy as a whole.

If you mean "Belated apology for not giving the more deserving film a nom the year it came out", like Up or Return of the King, um, maybe.
If it was a 9-10 nom year, and the Globes were being extra gullible.

There is, however, also the handicap that the Academy voters tend to shy away from movies with "controversy" in the headlines.
Good thing this movie doesn't have any.

I think the above list is very realistic for what they'd nominate. I wouldn't care about a single category, but I can see all of that happening..

War of the fanboys category. Who will take home Best Special Effects? TDKR or Avengers? Or maybe it won't go to an action blockbuster, like last year's Hugo.

There is no way Woody gets nominated over Sam Rockwell for Seven Psychopaths.

Effects will go with Avengers or Hobbit. Its still to early for me to be guessing on technical categories though...

Trust me, nada, Harrelson won't pick up a nod for Haymitch because it wasn't that impressive of a performance. Effects were naff, editing wasn't notably stellar, maybe sound mixing, that's it.

Yeah but that's usually because the talent behind it precede the actual product. HG didn't have that known talent.
