How can i become a Blu-ray.com Mod?

i am just curious because i have been a member on this site for a very long time now and i have amazing feedback.

Thanks mods and i would appreciate some feedback either on here or on a PM.

I was curious about this also. Figured I would post here and not start a new thread.

I love the TV section of the forum, and it would be cool to help out there as I do frequent in most of the threads on that forum for many hours a day

I know there are already 20 mods in that particular section, but in browsing through them (the ones that had public "Last active" on) I saw this:

September 2013
December 2013
January 2011
March 2014

One has not been online in 2 months, Two mods have not been online since 2013, and another mod has not even been on since 2011! Just seems like I could be a good asset to helping out in just that section Like the original poster, I've been a member here for 3.5 years, have a lot of great feedback, etc, and have made thousands of posts in that very section. Just curious on the process.

We only have a handful of mods that are active. The TV section could use some TLC. I'll send you a pm .

Not trying to suck up, but I think the moderation here is great. Very fair from personal eperiences, and pretty fast response time. Probably the best staff that I've seen, and I've been a part of many forums. It's really impressive when you realize how large and active this site is. I've been an admin at a few popular tech sites back in the day, and I know it's not easy work.

To answer the OP (if I may), feedback, or how much of a forum vet you are doesn't make one qualified to become a mod. I'd say you have to have the right characteristics for that job, and most likely make inquiries directly with admins/mods to be considered.

Sometimes I'd like to be a mod here, but only just to tidy up some things like moving deals to the dead section faster, moving threads to the wishlist section, and neating up thread titles and such. I kind of hate to bother a mod over such things

To be honest this place doesn't need much moderation, at least not since the format wars. Most of the members here get along pretty well and don't need mods to step in to intervene with their discussions.

I would also like to be a Mod, but then I think about how much work it must be. I mean, are the mods glued to their computers most of the day managing this place?

We're simply just members that volunteer to help out with the site the best way we can. There's no set time or schedule on when or how long we must be online. I love this site to death, but for me and most of us that help out. There's other priorities outside of the internet.

I also would not have a problem helping out if help is needed, Yes the TV section seems to need it more then others recently both 24 and Game of Thrones has been spoiled. I have a desk job so for the most part this site is open all day while at work.

I am sorry but that is not indicative in any way of how someone would be as a mod. I have seen people suspended/banned and than modded on sites larger than this and its worked out fine for admins.

Some mods were suspended at one point, a suspension would not automatically disqualify anyone . The administrators and the site manager usually ask the opinion of the moderation team and then they make a selection. I do not believe that the decision to add more mods has been made. If you are interested in helping out, just post a line and the site will review this at a future time.

Seriously though, I'd love to be a mod, if I'm deemed worthy. I love the site and wouldn't abuse the power one bit.

Some people have friendships on this forum so there will be a very strong bias and favoritism. I think the best thing to do is bring moderators from outside the community.
