Hello all...I have a question for you and it pertains to HDMI or optical.I have deftech 8060-st's in a stereo setup with a vsx-60 Pioneer elite avr and was curious of others findings with using an HDMI hook up vs a optical hook up.For me an HDMI hook up sounded good with the high def codecs but upon my use of optical....and YMMV...optical seems to give an even better sound via my setup.Sure it is only the core DTS or DOLBY sound...but via bluray I've found better results with optical than HDMI.I now have my Sony bdp-S590 3d hooked into TV via HDMI and sound to my avr via optical and it sounds fantastic!....dare I say better than HDMI.I am using audio quest HDMI cinemmon cables but the way I have it now sounds better than with a straight HDMI hook up.Anyone have similar instances?... Would like to hear from you...
