If I got the Django steel completely free from a contest online (youtube) still sealed but the person that sent it to me ordered via ebay and this...
What I noticed... ![]() What I just now found... ![]() Should I have them contact the ebay seller or just deal with it? I also noticed it came sealed with the security sticker and all but no like target exclusive sticker or anything. |

Once it is opened it most certainly CAN be exchanged. It cannot be refunded. The idea is that people were buying the release, opening it, watching/copying it, then getting their money back. Thus, using retail as a free rental service.
Now, if you want to exchange an opened media item, they will exchange it for you but will open the new one as well before giving it to you to keep you from trying to sell it as a new copy. This way people can't get their full money back that way either. The trick in this case is whether they will require a receipt to do the exchange. I know a lot of stores won't really care since they can just write off the damaged one anyhow. However, some stores are ridiculously strict about having a receipt even when it doesn't really matter (as in the OPs scenario). So, I would recommend taking it to a Target that has stock left and trying to exchange for a better copy. It wouldn't hurt to try that. Worst that could happen is that they say no and you'll still have your copy. It's not like they'll confiscate it because you tried to exchange without a receipt. ![]() |

thanks for the feedback, it kinda just through my for a loop when it was on the inner lip. I also found it odd it was clearly never opened, shrink wrapped with security sticker but didn't have that digital copy or target exclusive sticker on the front.

Exactly. If it was dented to hell, thats one thing, but paint chips are a way of life. Even after scouting a decent selection of steels to find the best, I'll sometimes still come away with unexpected paint chips.

"You got it free" seems to mean "deal with the bad stuff" to some!
If you received a defective birthday gift you would exchange that, wouldn't you? Of course you would! That said, Target has really jacked up their return policy! Exchanges not so bad. I'd just go to Target, say it was a gift, and exchange it. If they won't take it, then it's yours as is! |

I contacted target, it seems you either have to have a receipt or you can print off a gift receipt, which I can't because it was ordered via ebay bc the youtuber didn't have any at his local target.
I know its redundant, but is this acceptable damage? Would you let it go or have the guy contact the ebay seller? |
