United Kingdom Space Battleship Yamato subtitle question

I just found out about this version, and have a quick question for anybody who's bought the UK version of "Space Battleship Yamato" and is willing to do a quick (one-line) subtitle comparison to the HK and Australian versions.

Here's a line of dialogue that's mis-translated:

@0:58:20 "You've seen lots of them"

...which is Mori Yuki's response to Kato's statement that this is his first time seeing an alien fighter up-close and personal (this is when they're all gathered in the hangar and inspecting the captured Gamilas' fighter).

The better translation would have been "First time? What are you talking about?"

I'm not holding my breath, but here's hoping they were smart enough to use a new/proper translation.

Thanks in advance!

i know a couple of people who sub japanese films for studios - from what i gather, each territory may decide to re-sub a film (that is, a film might come out on DVD and they'd be surprised if it was their subs used, even if they subbed it for the studio as a job), and there's not necessarily an approved studio translation - also, any line of dialogue is subbed for sentiment rather than literally being done word-for-word, as stuff doesn't always directly translate or a particular subtitler may be more literal in their work than another.

Does the UK disc not have a Madman logo anywhere? With the odd exception, they just port the Australian Madman release across.

I get what you're saying logboy, but the example I used isn't such an example -- it's just somebody making up stuff, which is irritating. I prefer translating to dumbing (more often referred to as "dubbing"). I'll by this release in an instant if it's got a different "translation" than the HK and Australian releases, but I won't spend another cent on the same low-quality subtitles that were used previously. I'd even buy it if it had better PQ than the ones I've already got, but I seriously doubt it will surpass the Japanese one (which has no English subs). It'd just be nice to watch the film with subtitles that didn't seem half-assed.

I've FINALLY received a reply from Manga UK, and apparently their transfer is the same as the Australian Mad Man release. Disappointing news. I was told I'd hear back if that wasn't the case, but I read elsewhere that that is typically the case with the Manga UK releases.

The wait continues...
