Anyone else looking forward to this show? I love these types of series and think Showtime will deliver another hit like the Tudors and can't wait for April 3rd as this starts and I also have Game of Thrones and Camelot.

I think I turned the Tudors thread into the unofficial Borgias thread awhile back lol, everyday I have been wanting to start a thread for this show, but all of the photos would have to be linked through my photobucket and I am just far to lazy to do it haha. Yeah I didn't even know about this series until I saw a teaser on TV with the naked lady talking to the girl and it drew my attention straight away. Really happy they are going for another series like this though and not sticking to modern day shows.
You guys should find the song from the trailer tonight. Its by Within Temptation's its called Jillian, that song made me want to watch it

I am looking forward to watching all three of those shows. I have to get around to finishing off season 4 of Turdors on bluray and I still have to open my copy of Pillars of Earth. I am also watching the new season of Spartacus.
Interesting premiere, there sure are some seriously incestuous undertows all over this show lol. I didn't enjoy this nearly as much as Camelot which I watched right before this, but it's still a good show so far. Not quite sure what to make of it, besides the fact that it's good to know that politics and religion have never not been without incredible corruption.

The costume drama starring Jeremy Irons averaged 1.06 million viewers at 9 PM (vs. 1.11 million for record holder Dead Like Me seven years ago) and 1.49 million for the 9 PM and 11 PM airings combined. The Borgias' debut was up 22% from the premiere of Showtime's first big period drama, The Tudors, which The Borgias succeeded. It also surpassed the January premiere of Shameless (982,000), which at the time was Showtime's most-watched drama series premiere since Dead Like Me.

Very much enjoying this series. I've worked on Neil Jordan's sets before and
his attention to details really shows. Well written and a great cast...IMO.

The series, which debuted earlier this month to critical and audience acclaim, delivered the best ratings for a new SHOWTIME drama series in seven years and attracted 3.71 million viewers across multiple platforms (On Demand, replays and DVR) during its premiere week. Season-to-date, The Borgias is pacing ahead of The Tudors season four, the series’ highest rated season ever. Ten new episodes will go into production this summer to air in 2012.

The series stars Oscar®-winner Jeremy Irons as Rodrigo Borgia, the cunning, manipulative patriarch of The Borgia family who builds an empire by bribing, buying and muscling his way into the papacy. Along the way, the family commits virtually every sin in the book and invents more than a few of their own.
Academy Award®-winning director Neil Jordan (The Crying Game, Interview with the Vampire) will continue to serve as creator, executive producer, writer and will again direct the first two episodes. Accompanying Jordan this season is writer and director David Leland (Wish You Were Here, Band of Brothers) who will write several episodes and also direct two episodes. The series will again be produced as a Canadian-Irish-Hungarian Treaty co-production.
The first season of THE BORGIAS airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET/PT through its May 22nd season finale.
I spent a year waiting for this show, but by the middle or the second episode I found myself completely bored and just haven't been able to watch it again. I watched every episode of the Tudors, so I don't know why I can't enjoy this show too. Anybody else having problems with this show being boring, or just not being able to hold your interest?
