Angry Just got a oppo 103d.....no ir

So I got my Xmas gift early, bought my self a oppo 103d.

Hooked it up and the remote didn't work....
Didn't think anything of it, played Star Wars and movie worked fine, so I thought my remote might be defective. Checked the manual and says there are setting to change the code.

Still didn't work after I followed the troubleshooting from the manual..

Next I thougth let me add it to my harmony hub and still none of the remote functions function.

It's almost like someone forgot to put a Ir on the player.

Will be heading to magnolia on Friday..

You could always open it up and see if there is a loose connection especially since they're closed tomorrow. Might be a quick fix.

for a brand new device, purchased locally from an actual store, as long as he's within the return/exchange period, i think he should do just that and not open it up.

if it was a dispaly/as is purchase then, i'd agree with you because then he would be dealing with oppo and they would probably even recommend that.

He could but he still has a whole 1+ days to kill. Might as well enjoy it as much as possible until the stores open back up.

On occasion, sometimes a connection comes loose during transit and if this is the case it's a simple fix.

smart man......

please keep us posted, yes, it could be something as simple as a loose connection, but, you paid for a new properly working unit, not one that you have to fix yourself.

i'll be checking this thread out on friday to see what went on with you and the dealer.

so you see, even with another well respected brand, it happens sometimes. glad you mentioned that before this becomes a hate oppo thread.

since it's new, you can take it back for a new one. did you get it from magnolia in BB or one of their standalone stores?

It is just a BD player.

A gf once(many gfs ago...) did travelling sales for a drug company.

Bought a $80,000 car that left her stranded 300 miles from the closest dealer...with 400 miles on the odo. At the doctors office she was visiting...on a Friday night...
