He died "surrounded by love", a statement from his family said on Tuesday night.

The family said: "It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.

"He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.

Unhappy

Oh man, this is absolutely devastating news to hear for any metalhead, punk, and/or rocker.
I knew this day had to come eventually but I wasn't expecting it to occur so soon after Black Sabbath's final live concert (a.k.a. Back To The Beginning) which just happened merely a few weeks ago.
I don't even know where to begin with addressing how influential this man's work has been on my life, let alone the countless number of other individuals around the entire world he has positively impacted for several decades (and many more still to come).
I know as a fact that the albums of both Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne have saved many people's' lives in one way or another.
One might even argue that there is simply no heavy metal without Black Sabbath, period.
Personally, I always really enjoyed seeing Ozzy pop up in films on occasion for a comedic bit as well:

My sincerest heartfelt condolences go out to his wife, his children, his grandchildren, his various bandmates from over the years, his friends, and his many fans.
Say hello to Lemmy and John Lennon for me...
Rock In Peace Prince Of Darkness.

Oh man, this one stings. So many fond memories, from hearing Ozzy’s Bark at the Moon in GTA: Vice City to his Goldmember cameo, I even remember doing a report on Ozzy in my music class in 8th grade.

R.I.P. legend.

I am lost for words. His music really helped me through difficult times. He and his music are timeless and inspiring. End of an era.

R.I.P. Ozzy. Your music will live on.
