Acclaimed Irish director Lenny Abrahamson follows up his award-winning films Adam & Paul, Garage and What Richard Did with an offbeat comedy about a young wannabe musician, Jon (Domhnall Gleeson), who finds himself out of his depth when he joins an avant-garde pop band led by the mysterious and enigmatic Frank (Michael Fassbender), a musical genius who hides himself inside a large fake head, and his terrifying bandmate Clara (Maggie Gyllenhaal).

Written by Jon Ronson (The Men Who Stare At Goats) and Peter Straughan (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Men Who Stare At Goats), FRANK is based on the memoir by Jon Ronson. It is a fictional story loosely inspired by Frank Sidebottom, the persona of cult musician and comedy legend Chris Sievey.

Lenny Abrahamson's Frank Detailed

Curzon Film World and Artificial Eye have detailed their upcoming Blu-ray release of director Lenny Abrahamson's film Frank (2014), starring Michael Fassbender, Domhnall Gleeson, Scoot McNairy, and Maggie Gyllenhaal. The release will be available for purchase on September 15th.

Definitely, he was consulted really early on, before production, about the direction of the story. He wated it to mainly fictional, as to not try and portray his private life. I know he would have approved of the finished thing, I know I did!

This is actually awesome! Are you involved in the making of this movie or the documentary Being Frank?

I wasn't involved in this film , but have been interviewed for the being frank documentary being made, and been in regular contact with the producer/director. Hopefully this shoulf be finished soon.

Very unpredictable film. Well worth seeing if you like indie cinema.

Also, the Irish director's previous film is out on Blu-ray as well. It is superb. If you don't have it on your collections, consider adding it now
