Default Fireplace: Visions of Tranquility [Blu-ray]

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...blurayforum-20

Wow, great minds do think alike. Anyone recall some time ago when I suggested a screen saver type disc for blu ray? This one is only a fireplace, no fish tank, or such.

I think it might be worth having for the holidays. Now you can open your Christmas presents in the living room next to a roaring fire. Or play in the background when you have company over. What do you guys think?

With the heat most plasmas give off I doubt you'd need the space heater . I'd also be worried about burn in (no pun intended).

Count me in, unless some horrible reviews are released.

Pre-Ordered - Thank you. I have been trying to find something like the Yule Log that the cable companies have. Hopefully this is decent.

I was thinking I could just borrow my son's XBox and point the exhaust fan out towards the room. Actually I should probably have the front facing forward - the RRoD would look nice next to the flames.

You did say something about an aquarium, right?

If you look at the new pre-orders, it appears we may have quite a few of these "Screensaver" releases coming up.

Woo hoo. Thanks for that find. Both of these could be worth having. I mean, anyone will know a fireplace on the tv is fake, but Aquariums were the first "wide screen" entertainment available. I bet plenty of folks could mistake it for the real deal. Especially since my HDTV is still a tube set.

LOL...always wanted a wall aquarium. Just think if you set is wall mounted how many compliments you'll get on your fish. Not to mention how many people might ask if they can feed them.

I am very intrigued by the idea, but am still skeptical.

couple questions:
are the images real or generated? (both fire and aquarium)
has anyone seen this personally?
can we get an image uploaded as an example?

Lol...damn...too bad I got my tv calibrated
I would've been able to use the heat that it used to give off as reasoning that the fire was real...now it doesn't even run half as hot
I say they need to put out the aquarium ones...they are the more popular screensaver type discs....I mean...who wants a fireplace in the middle of the summer...fish are good all year round...:-P

This interactive one that works with the PS Eye is even better..you can "touch" the water and make them move..

From the Amazon link on the Aquarium:
Product Description
Presented in stunning 1080p with Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound tracks, Exotic Saltwater Aquarium Blu-ray Disc is the most realistic and highest quality HD Aquarium ever created. Featuring five unique tanks, teeming with colorful fish and diverse aquatic life this HDScape Exotic Aquarium creates the illusion of turning your TV into a high-end saltwater aquarium. With multiple menu options, you can automatically rotate between five aquarium tanks, infinitely loop the same tank, and select from four soundtracks.

Five Unique Tanks: Classic, Living Reef, Predator, Shark, and Nautilus
Four Audio Tracks: Natural Bubbles, Relaxation, Seascape, Classics of Beethoven, Vivaldi, Chopin and Mozart.

Fire place:
Product Description
Introducing Fireplace: Visions of Tranquility Blu-ray Disc, shot in High Definition and created specifically for your high definition home theater. Four different fireplace flames allow the viewer to choose a fire and soundtrack to set the right mood. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the dancing flames and crackling roar of Fireplace.

Four Fireplace
Viewing Options Include:
The Eternal Flame: This steady flame remains at full intensity. Use it with the repeat option for dazzling, warm flames all night long. 30 minutes.
The Complete Fire: The full life of a fire, from the crackling start to the burning embers. 30 minutes.
The Extraordinary Fire: The best angles and shots of the fireplace with beautiful close-ups that accentuate the flame.
The Romantic Fire: This smaller and more intimate fire is sure to ignite some passion for you and the one you love.
HDScape: Advancing the Art of HD

It appears you can find several different versions of these on DVD. I loved the aquarium feature that comes on Finding Nemo. I may inclined to wait for that on blu-ray just to use their version.

I'll say it again, the fireplace thing is great for Christmas. Just hang some stockings on your TV and you are all set.
