Blu-ray Samurai

I don't know if there's been a thread before this, and I even searched so yeah.
What's your favorite Blu-Ray or Blu-Ray that means the most to you? Whats the reason behind it? Maybe its film you watched with your parents as a child or there's some crazy story. Okay. I'll go first of course. ![]() ![]() Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 3D is my favorite Blu-Ray because it's autographed by Anna Faris, Bill Hader, and Neil Patrick Harris. I got it signed at the Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 premiere last month on 21st. I went to the first movie premiere, so I just had to go to the sequels! And obviously had to get it signed! Anna Faris is my favorite actress (obv. look at my avatar! haha) and the time I went to the first movie premiere was when I first met her. This is the Blu-Ray I purchased for $5 at Best Buy too - that was a stressful experience and I'll always remember that too! ![]() ![]() |

I'll play this game.
I can't pick just one (kind of like what they say about Lays' potato chips) so I'll pick a few. Kick-Ass: my first Blu-ray. The Dark Knight Rises: my first steelbook. The Tim Burton Collection: my first box set. The Coen Brothers Collection (Universal): my first import (from the UK). For sentimental reasons: Beauty and the Beast: the first movie I saw in a theatre. Paranormal Activity 2 and Black Swan: I saw these two in the theatre with my best friend in community college (she now lives in Arkansas with her husband). And a combination of sentimental and personal: L!fe Happens: I think this movie saved my life. One day, I had have a terrible day and had spend several hours in a psychiatric ward for an evaluation (I had suggested it in that I was thinking that my problems were mental). After being discharged (it was decided that my anger was an isolated incident), I went home and had two movies waiting for me from Netflix. The first one was the film version of Batman: Year One (a title that I have been meaning to get on Blu-ray). This was the second one. I put it in expecting nothing and got probably one of the most realistic depictions of twentysomethings today. Sometime after that, I searched long and hard for a copy at a decent price (a DVD copy at first) before finding out that it was on Blu-ray. Every time I went into a store, I would search for it but had no luck (I remembered Target had it but it was pulled not long after it came out). Until finally, I went on the goHastings web site one Labor Day weekend and found a copy for $3. A few days later, I received it and even though the case was broken (luckily, I replaced the broken case with a new one), I was happy to have one of my most wanted titles. Since then, I have crossed off two more films with Krysten Ritter (the star, co-writer and producer of the film) from my most wanted list (Vamps and Killing Bono) and will seek any future projects featuring her (even the Veronica Mars movie, a project that I was totally against due to it abusing the Kickstarter financing method). I understand if you post tl;dr but I wanted to tell that story. |

Lord of the Rings Extended Cut blu-rays
I consider these 3 films perfect. I've never been so sucked into a story, everything from the filming locations to the music complement each other so well. The packaging is beautiful and the special features are very in-depth (it's basically a cheaper version of film school) |

I have a couple as well
-Payback (import with both cuts). I always loved this movie. I'm also a gamer and this flick reminded me so much of the first Max Payne game. - X-Men The Ultimate Collection. This edition comes with an X shaped box that holds the discs. -Rec 1-3. Rec 1 and 2 from the Canada boxset. Rec 3 standalone. -The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. My first Criterion (even if it comes in a regular case :/). My now exgirlfriend bought me this a couple days before we broke up. I guess that's why I've not seen it yet ![]() |

Army of Shadows and Le Cercle Rouge are both in my All-Time Top Five Movies list and these Blu-rays are currently out of print, so I treasure them.
![]() ![]() This brilliant film noir from one of my favorite directors, Fritz Lang, is also out-of-print, so I'm guarding it with my life as well... ![]() In terms of general awesomeness, I also hold these in high regard... ![]() ![]() Along with my collection of all of the James Bond 007 films, of course. |

+1 Yeah I Completely agree with you. When that's out it will definitely be my favourite/most special Blu-ray as well (until the 4k remastered edition is released lol) It's easily my favourite show of all time as well I'm obsessed with it, imo it's the greatest thing ever put on film.
