Sega announced Double Dragon IV for PS4 and PC today

Double Dragon IV is due for release on Playstation 4 and Steam platforms on January 30, 2017.

If Double Dragon is a level based game inspired by the original, I'm interested. I agree, the retro style graphics are a big part of the appeal for this series.

Huge fan of the original aracde games but not so much of the NES versions so this will be an easy pass for me.

I wish they would remake side scrolling arcade beat em ups like these and just update/alter the graphics. Imagine Final Fight for example with the graphical style of the Marvel vs Capcom games, now that would be sweet!

Edit: I just dusted off the old Xbox 360 and played Double Dragon arcade with enhanced graphics, now that is real nice! Shame it is not available anymore, bought the full game way back and now I only have the demo and cannot redeem the full game anymore.

I'd like a port of Double Dragon Advance for PS4. Advance was like a double sized director's cut of the old arcade game with elements of the sequels mixed in.

IV looks good. I-III on the NES were a lot of fun. I probably played II the most. I recall the first game had a long forest stage where the toughest thing was beating the stage before the time ran out.

Not sure about the cost yet but it should be reasonably low since this is a basic port to the PS4 with what looks like no major alterations to the graphics. Probably about the same price as other arcade classic games (this being NES though). January 30, 2017, right around the corner.
I never got the chance to play this Double Dragon version on the NES. Looks like fun.

There was never a double dragon 4 on NES, this is a brand new game with throwback graphics

Cool, thanks! The graphics were so convincingly old school 8 Bit, that I was pretty sure it was from the old NES. Thanks for clearing it up. Looking forward to this more now.

In this trailer, I'm guessing the 2nd half is the new game, with the first half being an original NES game? Or is it all the new game? Not enough info out there on this game that I found yet. I like both styles, though the 2nd half looks more colorful and I like the parallax scrolling backgrounds on the train.

Yes, only the second half of the trailer is from the new game. The 1st half is most likely the same game found on the NES classic mini Double Dragon 2 the revenge.

This looks like a fun game. Walking on top of the moving train is always a fun level in an action/brawler game in my opinion.

It would also be nice to see a full Double Dragon collection on disc for PS4, though that probably won't happen if the games were made by different developers, unless the rights all fell under one company.
