Hello,
I bought this BD for a first-time watch. I think this movie is overrated but oh well. I'm not a video quality technician but let me say that this BD sucks. The video quality is quite poor and a lot of scenes look overall dirty. I saw the BD on a HD ready (720p) screen and it was like I was watching a low-average quality DVD. The Italian language track wasn't good either. The volume of music and fx was too loud in comparison with voices'. Therefore, some dialogues turned out to be somewhat whispered. |

Well I recently watched The Social Network and Memoirs of a Geisha on the same screen, and the video quality was awesome. With the Last Emperor I see a very dirty and somewhat dusty video quality, especially when the lights are dim. |

Does anyone know how the Italian 3D BD release holds up in comparison to the Japanese BD? Is it the correct aspect ratio and is the PQ any good?
Have been looking at this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3D-The-La...cAAOSwaB5Xu4fV |

Caps-a-holic has this comparison between the Japanese disc, which I own, and the Italian 4K restoration. The comparison seems to use the 3D version, as it's overly bright:
http://caps-a-holic.com/c.php?go=1&a...=59186&i=4&l=0 The listing here says this Italian disc has both the 3D and regular version of the film on the same disc. Is this true? How can they fit 6 hours of HD content on one disc? How does the regular 2D version look? Is it also from the 4K restoration? Is it also overly bright? |
