XBOX 360 vs. PS3: Power and Speed

Can someone please provide technical specifications of the XBOX 360 (U.S.)and the PlayStation 3 (U.S.)?
I am most interested in the CPU speed -- which will be faster?
I am also interested in (at least) a theoretical comparison of the two systems in terms of raw processing power.
Why do I ask this?
I found out that the XBOX 360 can and DOES play the DVD versions of the laser disc games Dragon's Lair, Space Ace, and Dragon's Lair II: TimeWarp nearly flawlessly!!
The above games suffer from rather long pauses between moves as well as sluggish play on the regular XBOX, with the PS2 able to play somewhat better, but not near arcade perfect.
The makers of the games (Digital Leisure) and the DAPHNE developers (visit www.daphne-emu.com) both report that these games (played on an XBOX 360) is better than ANY DVD player they have ever encountered -- with NO pauses at times! Thank the awesome speed of the 360's CPU for that. So I am wondering.....will the PS3 be even faster, perhaps bringing these arcade classics to total perfection?
