Just did a bit of a read-up on this and it sounds quiet interesting.
One commentator even (rightly or wrongly, YMMV) compared it to "Elfen Lied".

So as a Part 1, I suspect most of this portion will be character establishment so the reviewers that complained about that I guess don't watch many mini-series.

Anyway, I'll order a copy. I doubt it will be too pricey.

Yeah it takes its time to set up its characters, but I didn’t mind it at all. I liked that it took its time to get to the action and when it did, my God, it explodes! Kim Da-mi is a star in the making.

I suspect it will be either $34.99 or $35.99.

Ordered the following this eve from Nova;
- The Witch Pt1
- The Last Princess (Lenti)
- Bullet In The Head
- The Outlaws (LE)

It was actually cheaper to do 2 orders (kp) than it would have been to do a single order via EMS. weird...

Regardless, very happy with my choices. I have some catching up to do with my Asian cinema delights it seems.

You have more patience than I do. I’ll typically just spend more on separate shipping to ensure I don’t miss out on any of these.

Have you heard any info on the possible sequels for this or what the “Part 1” is all about?

This is my first time exercising said "patience" when it comes to buying movies. : ) I am panicking if I miss this but I don't believe this is a very limited release at this point though I could be mistaken.

THANKS for making me worried now. Hah.

thisgenius can probably guess this but I would have no patience at all for whatever Son Ye Jin releases are ahead in the future.

Park Hoon-jung has envisioned this saga as a trilogy. The structure of Part 1 is certainly set up in a way that it’s clearly designed to be a part of a bigger story. But I haven’t heard anything about the status of a Part 2 since. It would be absolutely criminal to not let Kim Da-mi return to this character though, so I really hope they get cracking with it.

All of SM Life Design’s “big” releases have sold out pretty fast so far, but those have been Age of Shadows and A Taxi Driver. This will be limited and should sell well, but not as well as the those two. I reckon you should be ok until the 21st. Having said that, I was terribly wrong on both those previous accounts, so what do I know?

I think when it comes to Son Ye-jin releases, most of us can’t!

To add a bit of balance here, I'm in the minority who can wait

I've seen Something in the Rain and Be With You and I've been disappointed with both of them. So I'm more wary now.

(I still have The Last Princess to see, so maybe I'll be converted.)

As far as stuff selling out: Age of Shadows, A Taxi Driver and others like 1987 still are still available (if not in limited, then in plain editions), so I take a more relaxed approach.

Watched The Witch Part 1. Wish I liked it more. It takes forever to get going and the storytelling is pretty bad at times. So much of that "explaining the plot" dialogue, drives me nuts. After 90 long minutes (long because I didn't engaged much with the characters), the action kicks in and it's fine. Seen it all before, nothing special.

The movie was just okay I guess, maybe a Part 2 will make Part 1 better, I don't know. I'll give it another shot sometime, since I own it anyway.

So, what is inferred by "Normal" Version?
Is it shorter? Or are they just referring to packaging and/or perhaps lack of extras?
Ta!

Just the packaging. Now that the limited edition is sold out, this is the general release. The disc would be the same, it just doesn't include the booklet, postcards etc.

Great flick, as expected from the writer of I Saw the Devil and director of New World. Waiting for sequel.

Haven't been logged in for a while but thought you might all like to know that The Witch Subversion Part 2 is supposed to commence filming in December and wrap in March. Release date next year, autumn? it was supposed to film this year but the corona virus delayed it.

My Drama List also gives next year as the release date

Can't wait!
Gotta wait!
Worth waiting for!

Was part 2 only released in the US and UK? No Korean release?
