Classic 80's cartoon, loved the music, really deserves some blu ray love.

Very much so. I'd buy a blu-ray day one, if it featured the PQ of the Rhino release of some years back, which comprised most of the series except for the second half of S3.

(The complete series release that followed some years later had much poorer PQ, as it was evidently scanned from broadcast tapes rather than from the negatives, as the Rhino set was.)

Favourites would include the premiere episode and especially episode 5, "Battle of the Bands," which concluded the initial story arc. I always get a genuine feeling of joy during the latter episode -- one of the few times when I've ever been fully emotionally involved in a protagonist's victory over an antagonist and cheered them on unreservedly. Such a great storyline, and such a rewarding conclusion.

Favourite songs would include the opening montage ("Jem; Jem Is Outrageous"), "Twilight in Paris" (best video of the whole series) and "Music Is Magic." Those are the first numbers that come to mind.

The show did feel like the writers come from many unrelated series from daytime soaps, action cartoons, to even Scooby Doo.

Also the show's creator, Christy Marx, got her start on New Fantastic Four, G.I. Joe, and early 80's Spider-Man cartoons.

I really wish we got that animated movie that got cancelled because of how bad the Transformers and G.I. Joe animated movies did.
